Ladies Retreat

Ladies Retreat
New Hope Baptist Church
Seneca, SC
September 2006
Last month, Brian's mother invited me to join her church ladies at their annual retreat. Having been several years in succession, I knew that this would be a treat, so I was glad to tag along! The theme of this meeting was PRAYER. Mrs. Anita Hefner (red shirt) was the speaker for each session, and she did a fantastic job teaching the correct way to pray through scripture. She not only emphasized the importance of prayer, but also taught that if we know more about GOD, we will be able to pray more effectively. I enjoyed Mrs. Anita classes and getting to fellowship with these ladies. (Including their new pastor's wife, Shelley - pictured on far left)
Along with learning more about God's Word, I really cherish the time that I was able to spend with Brian's family: his mom (Evelyn Patterson), his sister (Kim Addis), and his aunt (Carol Holland). When we see each other, it's usually at family gathering -- so -- it was nice to have some girl time! I enjoyed carrying on conversations with no interruptions, eating meals without getting up and down for different reasons, listening intently to others and not worrying about what the children might be getting into - you know what I mean! (They were all four at home with Brian!!) Although Kim and I got in some trouble trying to have a little fun with Evelyn and Aunt Carol, I am very thankful for the 24 hours that it was just us!
I am grateful for the opportunity to share these times with family and look forward to many more occasions that we will enjoy together!
